    Key developments this week

    • On 6 June, Fugro Discovery resumed search operations following a week of weather avoidance.
    • On 6 June, Fugro Equator resumed search operations following a week of weather avoidance. On 7 June, however, the vessel once again ceased search operations due to severe unfavourable weather conditions. The vessel continues to use the hiatus to conduct bathymetric survey operations, mapping additional areas of the seafloor which may be incorporated into the search.

    Key developments this week

    • Fugro Equator arrived back in the search area on 29 May and recommenced search operations.
    • On 30 May, foul weather forced all three search vessels—GO Phoenix, Fugro Equatorand Fugro Discovery—to retrieve their towfish, as the conditions prevented safe search operations. Search operations have not yet recommenced.
    • Fugro Equator is using the hiatus to conduct bathymetric survey operations, mapping additional areas of the seafloor which may be incorporated into the search.

    • Go Phoenix departed from Fremantle on 21 May, and arrived back in the search area on 26 May. Upon completion of the current swing, GO Phoenix will cease search operations and is expected to transit to Singapore.
    • Fugro Discovery arrived back in the search area on 22 May and is undertaking search operations.
    • Fugro Equator departed Fremantle on 21 May, and is expected to arrive in the search area on 28 May.

    Key developments this week

    • Go Phoenix arrived at the port of Fremantle on 17 May to conduct routine resupply and is expected to depart for the search area on 20 May.
    • Fugro Discovery departed Fremantle on 15 May and is expected to arrive back in the search area around 21 May.
    • Fugro Equator suspended search operations on 14 May to travel to Fremantle for routine resupply. The vessel is expected to arrive in port in the evening of 20 May, and to depart late the next day.

    Key developments this week

    • Go Phoenix suspended search operations on 13 May, and commenced passage to Fremantle for routine resupply.  She is expected to arrive in port around 18 May.
    • Fugro Discovery berthed at Fremantle on 12 May to conduct routine resupply. The vessel is expected to depart back to the search area around 14 May.
    • Fugro Equator continues to conduct search operations to the east of the 7th arc.  The vessel is expected to suspend search operations later today in order to travel to Fremantle for routine resupply. It is expected to arrive in port around 20 May.
    • Fugro Supporter has withdrawn from search operations.  The deteriorating weather has brought sea conditions which are beyond the safe launch and recovery limitations of the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). Fugro Supporter is expected to arrive at the port of Fremantle around 18 May, where the AUV will be offloaded and stored and the survey team will be demobilised.

    Key developments this week

    • Go Phoenix continues to conduct search operations to the east of the 7th arc. Weather conditions on Sunday resulted in a temporary suspension of search operations.
    • Fugro Discovery has continued to conduct search operations to the west of the 7th arc and will depart the search area around 7 May to return to Fremantle for resupply.
    • Fugro Equator continues to conduct search operations to the east of the 7th arc with a focus on the south in order to ensure that this area is searched ahead of the expected deterioration in weather conditions.
    • Fugro Supporter continues to conduct search operations within the search area.  However, unfavourable weather conditions have hampered the deployment of the AUV during this period.

    Key developments this week

    • Go Phoenix arrived back in the search area on Thursday, 23 April and recommenced search operations in the northern part of the search area.
    • Fugro Discovery continues to conduct search operations to the west of the 7th arc with a focus on the south in order to maximise coverage in this area prior to the deterioration of weather conditions as winter approaches.
    • Fugro Equator continues to conduct operations to the east of the 7th arc with a focus on the south in order to ensure that this area is searched ahead of the expected deterioration in weather conditions.
    • Fugro Supporter continues to conduct search operations within the search area. Unfavourable weather conditions have hampered the deployment of the AUV with the vessel obliged to go on stand-by and wait for conditions to abate.

    Key developments this week

    • Go Phoenix is departed the port of Fremantle for the search areas on 18 April after conducting a routine resupply visit. Departure was delayed owing to a fault with a bridge computer sustem, which has now been rectified.
    • Fugro Discovery continues to conduct search operatios.
    • Fugro Equator arrived back in the search area on 16 April and commenced operatios.
    • Fugro Supporter arrived back in the search area on 18 April. Foul weather delayed deployment of the AUV. The AUV was deployed on Sunday, 19 April.

    Key developments this week

    • GO Phoenix is expected to depart the port of Fremantle early on 16 April after conducting a routine resupply visit.
    • Fugro Discovery arrived in the search area on 10 April.  The vessel ceased search operations on 11 April due to problems with the power supply through the cable to the towfish. This issue was rectified and search operations resumed during the night of 12 April.
    • Fugro Equator departed the port of Fremantle on 9 April and is expected to arrive in the search area around 16 April.
    • Fugro Supporter departed the port of Fremantle on 10 April. If weather permits, the vessel will conduct calibration trials while transiting to the search area.Fugro Supporter is expected to arrive in the search area around 17 April.

    • GO Phoenix departed the search area on 8 April for the port of Fremantle to conduct a routine resupply visit.
    • Fugro Discovery departed the port of Fremantle on 2 April and conducted calibration trials at the test site before commencing transit to return to the search area. The vessel had a winch cable replaced and has been equipped with a new towfish ‘Intrepid’.
    • Fugro Equator arrived in the port of Fremantle on 8 April to conduct a routine 24-hour resupply visit.
    • Fugro Supporter departed the search area on 4 April for the port of Fremantle to conduct a routine resupply visit.

    • GO Phoenix departed the port of Fremantle on 13 March after conducting a scheduled resupply visit, and is en route to the search area.
    • The presence of ex-Tropical Cyclone Haliba in the southern Indian Ocean resulted in severe weather and sea conditions, and the vessels Fugro Discovery,Fugro Equator, and Fugro Supporter were obliged to suspend search operations.  All three vessels recommenced search operations on 17 March.

    • Fugro Discovery continued to conduct search operations.
    • Fugro Equator continued to conduct search operations.

    • More than 30,000 square kilometres (around 50 percent) of the priority zone have now been searched.

    • More than 26,000 square kilometres (over 40 percent) of the priority zone have now been searched.
